The latest version of WordPress SEO plugin that is WordPress SEO 1.5 was released yesterday and the team considers as this was one of the major update after the initial releases.

Speed improvements

With the introduction of class loader the code now loads only when it’s needed, leading to a far smaller memory footprint and a lot faster performance on both frontend and backend.

There has been a complete clean of the queries used for the XML sitemap as well which leads to 70% decrease in the number of queries used to generate the index sitemap, making that a lot faster too.

A beta testing done on easydigitaldownloads.com showed 20 to 30% performance increase.
